Bolt: “I’d take the next flight to England” to Play For Manchester United

Bolt yearns to play for Man United

Usain Bolt has publicly expressed his desire to play football professionally for the English Premier  League team – Manchester United on numerous occasions.

On Sunday, the 9-time-Olympic gold medallist was asked the following question by Argentine magazine Viva:

“Would you prefer to be like Lionel Messi or like Cristiano Ronaldo?”.

His response:  “I’d be a good mixture. By combining the talents of the two and adding my speed and my heart, I would be the greatest!”

He also stated: “If they call me to say, ‘we need you now’, I’d take the next flight to England.”

Bolt has never hidden his affection for Manchester United a.k.a the Red Devils.

In 2015, while speaking with MUTV, Bolt revealed that he once talked about playing for the team with former club boss Sir Alex Ferguson and stated:

“In my mind I think I should do a trial and see if they would say ‘Alright, come on in’ or if they would say ‘No, you are not any good’. I think I would be pretty good because I am fit, I am quick, I can control the ball and I understand all the play.

“So I think if I do a trial then they would say, ‘You know what, here is a contract for five years! You are 30 years old, here’s a five-year contract. Let’s just do it!’”
