Jamaican born Anita Antoinette continues Progression on the Voice (Video)

The melodic and charismatic Jamaican born reggae singer Anita Antoinette progressed to the next round of the popular reality TV singing competition The Voice last night (November 3).

Anita delivered a truly stellar performance as she sang “Rude” by Magic.

She was pitted against Craig Wayne Boyd who sang “Can’t See You” by Marshall Tucker Band.

Her rendition drew numerous praises from the judges.

“You have certainly come out of your shell,” coach Adam Levine told Anita after her performance while Pharrell Williams said, “You just kept jabbing people with these unexpected, super confident notes.”

She was declared the winner of the battle by her coach Gwen Stefani who offered high praises of her own.

You just came so far, it’s shocking to me,” said Stefani.

The show features five stages of competition: the first begins with the Blind Auditions, then the Battle Rounds, the Knockouts, the Live Playoffs and, finally, the Live Performance Shows.

This win means she will participate in the Live Playoffs.
