Kishane Thompson ran a season’s best 9.88 seconds (0.0m/s), the fourth-fastest time in the world this year, to win the men’s 100m at Saturday’s Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium in Kingston.

Thompson got off to a good start, led the field by the halfway mark, and cruised to the win, signalling strong form ahead of the national championships later this month.

Last year’s winner, Oblique Seville, produced a strong second half to finish second in a season’s best 9.97 seconds.

South Africa’s Gift Leotlela placed third in 10.04 seconds.

In the B race, Sandrey Davison also posted a season’s best, clocking 10.07 seconds (0.8m/s) for the win.

Kadrian Goldson was second in 10.10, while Deandre Daley finished third in 10.19.
