Reggae Girlz Struggle in 4-0 Defeat to United States

The United States women’s team delivered a dominant 4-0 win over Jamaica in an international friendly at Energizer Park on Tuesday, with braces from Ally Sentnor and Lynn Biyendolo highlighting a lopsided encounter.

Sentnor struck twice in the first half, scoring in the 19th and 28th minutes, while substitute Biyendolo added goals in the 60th and 88th to seal the result.

Jamaica, led by assistant coach Deon Burton in the absence of Hubert Busby, struggled to contend with Emma Hayes’ well-drilled American side.

The United States controlled 83% of possession and recorded 23 shots, 10 of which were on target.

Jamaica managed only two attempts at goal, none of which tested United States goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce. Liya Brooks, in goal for Jamaica, produced several saves and stood out amid the pressure.

Sentnor’s first came from a precise build-up as Emily Fox broke down the flank and delivered a cushioned pass into the path of the unmarked midfielder, who finished clinically with a right-footed half-volley.

Minutes later, a blocked shot by Chantelle Swaby fell to Sentnor, who calmly slotted home her second before the Jamaican defence could reset.

The remainder of the first half was played largely in Jamaica’s defensive third, with the visitors unable to build possession or threaten the opposition goal.

Burton adjusted the formation at halftime from a 3-5-2 to a 4-2-3-1 in an effort to press higher up the pitch. The change had limited effect.

In the 60th minute, Biyendolo capitalised on a deflection from Claire Hutton’s header off a corner to make it 3-0. She completed her brace in the 88th minute, finishing a cross from Avery Patterson to round off the scoring.
