Leon Bailey Set for £25 Million Saudi Switch

Reggae Boy Leon Bailey is on the verge of completing a £25 million move to Saudi Arabia, with newly formed Pro League club Neom understood to be leading the charge for his signature.

The Jamaican international, 27, is poised to sign a deal that could see him earn up to £10 million per year, tax-free.

Bailey’s representatives have already held preliminary talks with the Saudi outfit, who are targeting high-profile names ahead of their debut campaign.

A key figure in Aston Villa’s successful push for Champions League qualification last season, Bailey struggled to maintain a regular starting spot during the most recent campaign.

His form was hampered by injuries and intensified competition following the emergence of Morgan Rogers and the signing of Marcus Rashford.

His expected departure from Villa Park has added to growing uncertainty surrounding the future of teammate Emi Martinez.

The Argentine goalkeeper was visibly emotional after Villa’s final home fixture, fuelling speculation he too could be on the move.

When asked about Bailey and Martinez’s futures, manager Unai Emery said, “Now we are focused on the matches we are playing. It is the last match here I don’t know, we will see. We will see about the team and the players.”
