Baker Scores Outrageous Goal Amid Jamaica Eligibility Switch (VIDEO)

Lewis Baker, who reportedly agreed last year to switch his international allegiance to Jamaica in pursuit of a World Cup opportunity, delivered a moment of brilliance with an extraordinary long-range goal.

On Saturday, the former Chelsea academy star stunned spectators when he spotted goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux off his line and unleashed a shot from over 60 yards out, finding the back of the net.

His remarkable strike eclipsed David Beckham’s iconic 57-yard goal for Manchester United against Wimbledon in 1996.

Baker, now with Stoke City, has logged three league goals this season. The midfielder’s career began at Chelsea, where he joined the academy at age nine in 2005 and spent eight years as a professional.

Despite his promise, he made just two senior appearances for the Blues, debuting under José Mourinho in an FA Cup tie against Derby County in 2014.

After numerous loan spells across England, the Netherlands, Germany, and Turkey—including stints at Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons, Vitesse, Middlesbrough, Leeds, Reading, Fortuna Düsseldorf, and Trabzonspor—Baker secured a permanent move to Stoke City. He joined Blackburn on loan last August but was recalled last month.

Though he represented England from the Under-17 to Under-21 levels, he never earned a senior cap, leaving the door open for a potential future with Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz.
