American Airlines Successfully Completes Proving Flight Ahead of Ian Fleming Service Launch Next Month
In anticipation of the commencement of its new service to the Ian Fleming Airport in Boscobel, St. Mary, American Airlines has conducted a successful proving flight.
The airline is set to expand its footprint in Jamaica, offering flights from Miami to Ian Fleming starting on February 24.
Member of Parliament for Western St. Mary, Robert Montague, provided insights into the testing process, confirming that a series of tests were conducted during the flight, and the overall operation was deemed successful.
The proving flight serves as a crucial step in ensuring that all systems and procedures are in place for the upcoming commercial flights.
President and CEO of the Airports Authority of Jamaica (AAJ), Audley Deidrick, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion of American Airlines’ services in the region.
He shared that the aircraft utilised for the proving flight has a capacity for 76 passengers and will operate flights into the Ian Fleming Airport twice weekly.
