Uncertainty Surrounds Leon Bailey’s Availability for Weekend Clash Against Brentford

Jamaica and Aston Villa winger, Leon Bailey, is facing uncertainty ahead of the weekend clash against Brentford as the toll of European commitments begins to affect Unai Emery’s squad.

Bailey was notably absent from Thursday night’s Europa League Conference bout against Bosnian side Zrinjski, concluding in a 1-1 draw.

This absence raises doubts about his availability for the upcoming fixture in the capital.

The Jamaican international was forced to exit the field during Villa’s 1-0 triumph over Arsenal last weekend, merely days after securing victory with the solitary goal against Manchester City.

Now, Bailey finds himself in a race against the clock to regain fitness for the weekend showdown.

With hope still lingering, Unai Emery refrained from definitively ruling Bailey out of contention following the draw with Zrinjski.

Emery stated, “Now we are going to focus on the Premier League and on Sunday in Brentford. We are going to try and recover from the match we played tonight, and with other players, some players like (Youri) Tielemans and (Leon) Bailey, hopefully, we can get the match on Sunday with the players ready to play.”

The fact that Bailey did not travel with the team to Bosnia for the European tie could potentially work in his favor, as the extra rest at home may prove crucial in determining his availability for the weekend clash.

As the Premier League injuries continue to mount up, Villa fans anxiously await updates on Bailey’s condition, hoping to see the dynamic winger back in action against Brentford.
