Reggae Boy Leon Bailey Provides Crucial Assist to Help Aston Villa Beat Tottenham Hotspur

Leon Bailey played a crucial role in Aston Villa’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League yesterday.

After losing their previous two league matches, Villa needed a win to keep their hopes playing European football next season alive. Bailey, who was given a start by Unai Emery, didn’t disappoint.

His attacking talents were on full display during the game. He assisted the first goal of the match in the eighth minute, playing a cross into the path of Jacob Ramsey, who converted to give Villa the lead.

The 25-year-old managed to take 30 touches, complete 11 passes and played three key passes during his 68 minutes on the pitch. He also succeeded with five of his seven dribble attempts and had a shot on target.

Although Bailey missed a big chance during the game, he showcased his ability to provide a dangerous attacking output from the right wing.

With five goals and four assists throughout all competitions in 2022/23, Bailey has proven to be a vital player for Villa.

And his solid performance against Tottenham will give Emery something to think about heading into the 2023/24 season. If he can end the season well and stay fit, there’s no doubt he will improve on his stats next year.
