Chrisann Gordon-Powell, Jamaica’s 800m Champion, Announces Pregnancy!

Chrisann Gordon-Powell, Jamaica’s reigning 800m champion, has announced her pregnancy on Instagram.

The 28-year-old athlete has had a successful career so far, being a part of Jamaica’s gold-medal winning 4x400m squad at the 2015 World Championships in Helsinki and earning a silver medal in the 4x400m relay at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

In 2016, she won gold in the 400m at the NACAC U23 Championships in San Salvador and was the NCAA 400m outdoor champion in 2017.

Last year, Gordon-Powell won the Jamaican national title in the 800m, defeating favored runner Natoya Goule at the National Stadium in Kingston.

Her pregnancy announcement came a week after her former training partner, Shaunae Miller-Uibo, announced her own pregnancy on social media.
