Jamaican Wonderkid Dujuan Richards Heads To England For Trial With Newcastle
After recently obtaining a UK visa, teenage forward Dujuan Richards is scheduled to go on a two-week trial with English Premier League outfit Newcastle United.
The 17-year-old, nicknamed “Whisper”, currently plays for Kingston College and Phoenix Academy.
Richards scored over 30 goals and provided 19 assists for Kingston College in the just-ended schoolboy football season.
His impressive form also recently led to him receiving a senior Jamaica call-up to a training squad.
Craig Butler, the founder and president of the Phoenix Academy that has played a significant role in Richards’ development said:
“He [Richards] is going to England to do a trial with a club there and we are looking forward to seeing him perform at that level and to make his path,” said Butler. “He is a very talented young player and a very powerful young player and a very dedicated young player.
“I believe that it is now the right time to make the move to go and show what he can do so that when it is time for him to sign, he would have been well-known and well appreciated by the clubs in England and mainland Europe.
“It is one of the top five clubs in the English Premier League at the moment, but this is not something that is new to Phoenix,” Butler also said.

What an incredible goal in the semi-final of Jamaica’s ISSA Champions Cup.
Only turned 17 this month, he comes from the same academy as Leon Bailey in Phoenix and has 29 goals and 19 assists this season. pic.twitter.com/cdt7baxpRZ
