Shericka Jackson Runs Second Fastest 200m Of All-Time To Win Gold At World Champs!

On Thursday night, Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson comfortably won gold in the 200m final on day seven of the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Jackson clocked 21.45 seconds, a national record, and the second-fastest time in history.

Her teammate, 100-metre champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, finished second with a season’s best – 21.81 seconds.

The previous Jamaican record of 21.53 seconds was held by Elaine Thompson-Herah.

  

Dina Asher-Smith of Britain earned bronze with a time of 22.02 while Olympic champion Thompson-Herah, who won bronze in the 100, finished seventh with a time of 22.39.

Jamaica’s medal tally currently stands at 6 at these championships – two gold, three silver and a bronze.
