COVID-19 Deaths Cross 200 Mark Locally
On Wednesday, Jamaica recorded an additional four COVID-19 related deaths and 76 new cases – the Ministry of Health and Wellness has revealed.
The deceased include a 45-year-old female from St James address; a 34-year-old male and a 90-year-old male from St Elizabeth; and a 38-year-old female from Westmoreland.
The death of the 38-year-old was previously under investigation.
The most recent fatalities increase the death toll from the coronavirus in Jamaica to 202.
The 76 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases have increased the total number cases on record for the island to 8,927. Recoveries increased by 50, bringing total recoveries to 4,429.
Of the newly confirmed cases, 50 are females and 26 are males, with ages ranging from one to 95 years. The cases were recorded in St James (14), St Catherine (12), St Ann (10), Trelawny (10), Kingston and St Andrew (nine), Westmoreland (six), Hanover (four), Clarendon (three), Manchester (three), St Mary (three) and Portland (two).
There are currently 15 moderately ill patients and four critically ill patients among the 4,175 active cases now under observation in Jamaica.
