3 New COVID-19 Deaths Locally, 155 New Cases

The Ministry of Health and Wellness says Jamaica recorded three COVID-19 related deaths and 155 new cases during the last 24 hours.

The deceased are a 69 year old male of a St Catherine address; a 56 year old female of a Portland address, who had comorbidities; and a 52 year old female of a St Ann address who also had comorbidities.

The island’s death toll from the coronavirus now stands at 70.

The total number of cases on record for the island is now 5,143. Recoveries increased by 57, bringing total recoveries to 1,407.

  

Of the newly confirmed cases, 83 are females and 70 are males, with the sex classification of two persons not yet confirmed; ages range from two to 93 years. The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (59), St James (35), Westmoreland (11), St Catherine (nine), Portland (nine), St Elizabeth (eight), St Mary (eight), St Ann (seven), Manchester (five), Hanover (two) and one each for Clarendon and St Thomas.

Twenty-nine moderately ill patients and seven critically ill patients are among the 3,583 active cases now under observation in Jamaica.
