112 New COVID-19 Cases Locally

Jamaica has recorded 112 new cases of the respiratory illness, COVID-19, increasing the island’s tally of infections to 3,623. 

The new cases are in St Mary, Trelawny, Kingston, St Andrew, Clarendon, St Catherine, St James, Hanover, Portland and St Ann.

The mode of transmission of the virus for all 112 cases is under investigation.

There have been no additional COVID-19 related deaths reported. According to the Ministry of Health & Wellness deaths from the virus remain at 40 with one death currently being investigated.

  

There have been 21 more recoveries, increasing that figure to 1,072.

Seven patients are critically ill.

The first case of COVID-19 was diagnosed in Jamaica on March 10.

Globally at least 28,964,703 deaths have already been attributed to COVID-19.
