J’cans Die In Mysterious Fire In The US On New Year’s Day

Two  Jamaicans and their baby died in a fire at their house in Columbus, Ohio in the United States on New Year’s Day.

The deceased have been identified as  33-year-old registered nurse Nerissa Distan, 42-year-old Gary Morris and 2-year-old  Serina Morris.

Media outlets in the US report that neighbours heard a loud bang emanate from the home sometime after 7pm.

The house was soon after seen on fire and the fire department was alerted.

The couple’s two other children were not at home when the fire occurred as they were visiting other neigbours, police indicated.

Media outlets in the US have also stated that local police are treating the fire as an act of arson.
