Koffee Collab With Rihanna Coming Soon?

Jamaican Grammy nominated singer Koffee has taken the world by storm.

The 19-year old, born Mikayla Simpson in Spanish Town is rapidly becoming one of the most recognisable female reggae artistes globally.

Earlier this year, she became the youngest artiste to top Billboard’s Reggae Chart courtesy of her debut EP, Rapture.

Her popularity was given a bit of a boost in August when former US President Barack Obama listed her song as one of his favourtie Summer songs.

Her song – ‘Toast’ which propelled her to international prominence last year was listed at #28 among the songs on Obama’s 44 song Summer Playlist which he shared via Twitter.

During an interview with British bi-monthly magazine, i-D Vice, the talented teenager who has a burgeoning friendship with Rihanna hinted at the possibility of a collaboration between herself and the pop star saying:

We’ve (Rihanna and I) been playing around with some stuff. I think something is coming in the near future, but for now, I can’t confirm it.

Koffee is currently a favourite for the Best Reggae Album category at the upcoming Grammys.

The 62nd Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on January 26, 2020.
