Bolt Anchors Jamaica Into 4×100 Final At World Championships
Usain Bolt helped Jamaica qualify for the Men’s 4x100m relay final at the London World Championships earlier today. The Jamaican team clocked 37.95 to win in heat 2 and was comprised of Tyquendo Tracey – Julian Forte – Michael Campbell and Usain Bolt.
Bolt is quoted by the IAAF as saying:
“There are no words to describe how I am feeling. I get so much support from the crowd. I appreciate that a lot. All the energy I am getting from the crowd is brilliant.
“The young runners in our team… it is just about executing and coming through the race for them. We have been training for the relay. There were some camps but still there were some mistakes.
“Yohan Blake coming in for the final is definitely good.”
The US team also breezed through its qualifying run to make the final with a world leading time of 37.70 seconds.
Barring a mishap, Bolt will have a very good chance of earning his 15th world championship gold medal in the final.
The final is scheduled for 3:50 pm (local time) today – August 12.
