Mother and Two Adult Children Perish in Manchester Fire

Three persons perished in a fire in Craig Head Manchester on Friday night (December 2).

The deceased have been identified as 73-year-old Lina Powell, and her 44-year-old daughter Lissette and son Delroy Powell, 46.

And though police have not spoken regarding possible suspicion of foul play, they have reportedly identified a person of interest in relation to the blaze that claimed three lives.

According to Loop Jamaica, Superintendent Wayne Cameron, who heads the Manchester Police Division stated that the man in question had been involved in a dispute with members of the family over a piece of property.

“It is said that this person was involved in a long-standing dispute with them so that person has to be a person of interest,” Cameron said.

“We want the person who is at the heart of that dispute to come in,” said the senior cop.

The fire reportedly started around 9 o’clock, around the same time residents of the North Manchester community heard gunshots in the vicinity.

However, Cameron also stated that there is no indication that the deceased were shot.
