Whitmore Hospitalised After Alleged Collapse

Reggae Boyz head coach hospitalised

Former midfield maestro for the Reggae Boyz and current national senior men’s football team coach Theodore Whitmore has reportedly been hospitalised.

On Saturday (October 15), the 44-year-old was reportedly talking to friends in the vicinity of the St James Parish Library and the Montego Bay Post Office after playing football earlier in the day when he collapsed.

He was then rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital and was said to be talking and moving about on his own.

Despite his recovery, he was reportedly being held for the night for further observation.

As a player, Whitmore earned 105 official international caps and scored 24 goals for the Jamaican national team.

He also scored two goals in Jamaica’s only win of the 1998 FIFA World Cup , a 2-1 victory against Japan.
