Bolt’s Final Track Appearance – Over 1 Million Apply For London Worlds Tickets

Jamaica’s 9 time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt is easily among the most marketable athletes in the world.

He is the only person in history to complete the ‘triple-triple’.

At the recently concluded Rio Olympic Games, Bolt won gold in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay events, a repeat of his achievements at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.

Blessed with a pleasant personality and an infectious smile, Bolt garners tremendous interest wherever he goes.

The sprint phenom has on several occasions stated that he will retire from track and field after the 2017 World Championships in London.

It should therefore not be too surprising that many people will be aiming to get a chance to witness the legendary sprinter sprint down the track one final time before hanging up his spikes for good.

Organizers of the 2017 IAAF World Athletics Championships have now revealed that more than a million people have applied for tickets for next year’s games in London where Usain Bolt and British distance runner Mo Farah will compete for the final time on the track.

Organisers say 1,047,000 tickets have been applied for with applications flooding in from 92 countries.

Bolt’s swan-song in the 100m final has attracted more than 200,000 ticket applications with the stadium capacity around 50,000 per session.
