Reggae Boy Romeo Parkes was released by his former club the Riverhounds (US based) and suspended by the United Soccer League earlier this year after kicking Red Bulls center back Karl Ouimette in the lower back.

Ouimette was hospitalised as a result of the injuries he sustained and the shocking incident made news headlines around the world.

FIFA, the governing body of football has now extended the striker’s domestic ban effectively barring him from most major competitions globally. According to RJR, in a letter to the Jamaica Football Federation, FIFA said Parkes’ suspension will now cover all types of matches, including, domestic, international, friendly and official matches.

FIFA said the suspension will run until October 23, 2016.

FIFA also reportedly stated the ban will remain in effect even if Parkes should appeal the initial decision taken by the United Soccer League to hand down an indefinite ban.

It said the decision can only be appealed to the chairman of the FIFA Appeals Committee and must be done within ten days of being notified.
