Holy Childhood High Mourns Loss of Student

There is reportedly widespread mourning at the Holy Childhood High school in St Andrew this week following the death of a student.

Christagay Buchanan, a 16-year-old fourth form (grade 10) student, was living with Sickle-cell anaemia and reportedly died from complications after being infected with the mosquito-borne illness recently.

The Holy Childhood High school shared the following sad news via their Facebook page on Tuesday:

“We regret to announce the death of Christagay Buchanan, a Grade 10 student of Holy Childhood High School.

Christagay died on Friday, June 10, 2016. She was a Sickler and suffered complications after contracting Dengue. May her soul rest in peace.

Please pray for her mother who is distraught. Christagay was an only child.”

Scores of persons have since offered condolences via Facebook.

  

Rip sweet heart my condolence to her family I too am grieving the lost of my nephew he came to the USA on a visa and had a heart attack he was 27 years old we are planning on shipping his body home to his final resting place in st Mary at a later date this happen last week Tuesday,” wrote one woman.

Another woman exclaimed, “OMG that’s so sad , rest in peace in the arms of the Angels . Lord please strengthen, protect and comfort her family . Wrap your arms around her mother oh Lord that she may never walk alone.”
