15-Yr-Old Girl Found With Illegal Gun, Arrested

A 15-year-old girl was reportedly taken into police custody in connection with the confiscation of one of three illegal weapons by the police on Sunday morning.

According to the Gleaner, the police’s corporate communication unit (CCU) revealed that the teen, whose identity has not been been made public, was seen walking along Marcus Garvey Drive in Kingston at approximately 5:25 a.m. when she was stopped and searched.

A Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol with eight 9mm rounds were found in a bag she was carrying. She was subsequently taken into custody.

The other two illegal weapons, a Glock pistol along with a magazine containing four .40 rounds of ammunition and an Uzi Par sub-machine gun, with a magazine containing twelve 9mm rounds of ammunition, were seized in Spot Valley, St James.

The CCU said the illegal weapons were found in an abandoned building during a search. No one was arrested.
