Striker Ricardo Fuller Ends Professional Career

After playing in a testimonial match on Monday night, former Reggae Boy Ricardo Fuller announced that he is retiring from professional football.

The striker said: “This is my last game. I’m packing it in. I finished with Oldham from January and I haven’t been doing anything much. I’ve just been spending time with my family. Now it is just about spending time with my family and enjoying the rewards of 15 years of hard labour.”

Fuller began his football career at the local club  Tivoli Gardens, before moving to England with Crystal Palace in February 2001.

He returned to Jamaica before going on loan to Hearts, and later Preston North End. He scored 27 goals in 58 League game at Preston, which prompted Portsmouth to pay £1million for his services.
