Bolt Comfortably Wins 100m at Cayman Invitational
On Saturday Usain Bolt opened his 2016 season with a comfortable victory in the men’s 100 metres at the Cayman Invitational.
With his relaxed 10.05 clocking, he beat American sprinter Dentarus Locke who clocked 10.12 and Jamaica’s Kemar Bailey-Cole who finished third with a time of 10.18 seconds.
This was the first time Bolt was competing since he won three gold medals at last year’s World Championships in Beijing. and his second time participating at a Cayman Invitational.
Bolt started strongly though he was behind Locke at halfway, however in customary fashion, the world’s fastest man shifted into a higher gear in the last 50 or so metres, and eased up as he approved the finish line to seal the relatively easy win.
In 2013, Bolt narrowly beat Bailey-Cole in a photo finish. Both athletes were given the same time – 10.09 seconds.
