Online Fund Set Up For Jamaican Man With Massive Tumour

Life has not been easy for Jermaine Barrett in recent times.

The 26-year-old from Montego Bay loves sport bikes and is desperately hoping he will be able to properly watch stunt performances again one day.

For over a year, Jermaine has been tormented by a massive growth on his face, but until very recently, despite a battery of tests, local doctors have been unable to agree on a diagnosis and treatment recommendations.

Doctors at Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay, Jamaica have now determined the tumor to be Chondrosarcoma – a cancer composed of cells derived from transformed cells that produce cartilage. Chondrosarcoma is a member of a category of tumors of bone and soft tissue known as sarcomas.

An online fund has now been set up for those willing to offer financial support towards Jermaine’s treatment.

Because of his illness, Jermaine who was formerly the breadwinner for his family is now unable to work and is fearful that the massive growth will one day begin to affect his brain if he cannot attain medical treatment abroad.
