Woman Pregnant With Twins Dies After Contracting Swine Flu
Jamaica continues to remain on high alert since the emergence of the sometimes fatal H1N1 virus (or Swine Flu) last month.
A 29-year-old woman pregnant is the most recent person to have died from the virus according to reports.
According to RJR, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Winston De La Haye stated the patient, who was from St. Mary, was 22 weeks pregnant, died on Tuesday.
Her death follows those of two other women who died after contracting the virus.
There are now 28 confirmed cases of H1N1 in Jamaica.
A report by Loop Jamaica also stated that the woman was reportedly carrying twins.
