Tessanne, Sizzla Grace the Billboard Charts
Jamaican entertainers Tessanne Chin and Sizzla Kalonji graced the Billboard charts this week.
Chin’s recent placement marks the first time she has entered the charts since 2014.
Her song Love Suicide debuts at number 30 n the Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Chin won season 5 of NBC’s hit reality TV singing competition The Voice and charted three times on Billboard charts between 2013 and 2014.
I Have Nothing reached number 51 on the Hot 100 chart, while her reworking of Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water stalled at number 64. Her take on The Beatles’ Let It Be peaked at number 76.
Sizzla graces the Billboard Reggae album charts for the 26th time via his latest album, 876. Released by Zojak Worldwide, it debuts at number three, Sizzla’s highest charter.
His first entry was Praise Ye Jah, which went to number 13 in 1997. His last album on the table was 2014’s Radical which reached number five.
876 is Sizzla’s 71st album. The 13-track set features production from Robert ‘Bobby Digital’ Dixon, Vychalle ‘Kid’ Singh, Jason ‘J-Vibe’ Farmer and Sheldon ‘Calibud’ Stewart.
