Hundreds of Bad Gas Complaints! – Consumer Affairs Commission
The Consumer Affairs Commission has revealed that it has received more than 350 complaints about motor vehicles affected by sub standard gas.
Engine damage was regularly mentioned in the complaints received by the commission.
Last month Energy Minister Phillip Paulwell stated that cabinet has mandated a committee to look into possible ways to compensate consumers who have been affected by contaminated gasoline.
The CAC is also encouraging persons to save receipts indicating the petrol station, date, type of petrol, quantity and cost of fuel purchased.
Motorists are asked to make sure to include mechanic’s reports and invoices for repairs and parts replacement when filing complaints.
