Former Head Coach Expresses Concerns About Influx of Foreign Players

Former national football coach and analyst Geoffrey Maxwell has voiced his concerns about the influx of overseas based players in the national football team.

According to Loop News,  Maxwell believes the drive by the Jamaica Football Federation to secure the services of more foreign-based players may do more harm than good.

The former head coach stated he was concerned that the local football programme, and ultimately players based in Jamaica might be overlooked due to this latest attempt to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

“I am a little bit concerned about just flooding the programme with overseas based players, because at the end of the day when these players are gone, what is going to happen to the local players?” the former coach asked.
