Suspicious package Grounds Caribbean Airlines flight

A Caribbean Airlines flight was unable to depart from the Miami International Airport this afternoon after authorities found a suspicious package at the terminal.

It is not clear if the package contained anything dangerous. The delayed flight was expected to leave Miami for Guyana.

Reports from the associated press say a concourse at the Miami International Airport was evacuated as authorities investigated a suspicious package.

Airport spokesman Marc Henderson says the package was discovered Thursday about 3:05 p.m. outside the gate of a Caribbean air flight.

All passengers in the airport’s j concourse were evacuated to a nearby area. Ten flights have been unable to depart and two incoming flights were diverted to other gates.

Television footage by reporters covering the incident showed an airplane bearing the air Jamaica logo and emblem.
