Reggae Girlz Set for Friendly Matches Against France and South Africa Ahead of 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers

Ahead of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers, which kick off in 2025, Jamaica’s national women’s football team, the Reggae Girlz, will take part in two international friendlies later this year against France and South Africa.

According to the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), the Reggae Girlz will go up against 10th-ranked France on October 25 at Stade Auguste-Bonal in France.

This encounter comes as a rematch following their 0-0 draw during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia, a milestone for Jamaica as they earned their first World Cup point.

On November 29 and December 2, Jamaica will then play two home matches against South Africa, currently ranked 50th.

The two nations last met in Durban, South Africa, in April 2019, where they drew 1-1.

These friendlies will be essential preparation for Jamaica as they look to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Jamaica’s confederation, CONCACAF, will allocate four World Cup spots, with an additional two places potentially available through the Intercontinental playoffs.
