Kasey Palmer Shines as Hull City Secure Dramatic 3-1 Comeback Over Stoke

Reggae Boy Kasey Palmer played a pivotal role in Hull City’s long-awaited victory, contributing significantly in their 3-1 comeback win over Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.

It was City’s first win in 149 days and their first under manager Tim Walter, breaking a frustrating winless streak.

Palmer, starting in place of the benched Abu Kamara, was a constant threat throughout the game. Despite City going behind in the first half to a Ben Wilmot header, the Jamaican international’s persistence and influence helped orchestrate a memorable turnaround.

After the break, Hull were much improved and Palmer’s efforts were soon rewarded. The equaliser came in the 63rd minute when Mohamed Belloumi was fouled by Stoke’s Eric Bocat inside the box.

Palmer stepped up to take the penalty, but his initial shot was expertly saved by Viktor Johansson. However, Palmer was quick to react, heading home the rebound to bring City level. This marked just the second goal Hull have scored from open play this season.

Hull City, buoyed by the equaliser, surged forward. Regan Slater, who came off the bench, scored a powerful strike with 13 minutes remaining, putting Hull in front for the first time under Tim Walter’s reign.

Just minutes later, Palmer was once again involved, delivering a dangerous cross from a tight angle that deflected off Wilmot and found its way into the back of the net, sealing the 3-1 victory.

Palmer’s crucial contributions throughout the match earned him a standing ovation from the travelling fans when he was substituted in the closing stages, making way for Fin Burns. His performance was a standout, not only in terms of his goal but also his overall involvement in Hull’s attacking play.

This result not only ended Hull’s winless run but also provided a significant morale boost for both the team and the supporters, with Palmer’s display at the heart of it.

The Jamaican playmaker’s tenacity and skill were vital in Hull’s first victory since April, and the club will be hoping he continues to influence their resurgence moving forward.
