Reggae Boy Michail Antonio Scores Brace To Help West Ham Reach Europa Conference League Last Four

Jamaica international Michail Antonio played a pivotal role for his club West Ham as they secured their second European semi-final in as many years with a stunning 5-2 aggregate win over Gent at a rocking London Stadium on Thursday night.

Antonio’s firm header in the 37th minute and Lucas Paqueta’s nerveless spot-kick in the 55th minute cancelled out Hugo Cuypers’ deserved first-half opener for the visitors in the quarter-final second leg.

Antonio then put the gloss on another memorable European night for David Moyes with his second of the night in the 63rd minute, as the Hammers overwhelmed their opponents with three goals in eight second-half minutes.

Despite Declan Rice’s stunning solo goal, it was Antonio who was the standout player, once again showcasing his importance to the West Ham team.

If the Hammers go on to lift the trophy in Prague on June 7, Antonio’s contribution will be crucial in joining the likes of club legends Bobby Moore and Billy Bonds as a captain who has won silverware.
