Jamaica’s Thompson-Herah Clocks 10.87 To Win 100m In Doha
On Friday, Jamaica’s Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah once again showed her class with a comfortable 100m victory at the Wanda Doha Diamond League meet in Doha.
Following a superb start, the Jamaican quickly took an unassailable lead to cross the finish line in 10.87 seconds.
Marie-Josee Ta Lou, of the Ivory Coast was second in 11.21, just 0.04 ahead of USA’s Kayla White.
Thompson-Herah, now 28 years of age has run the fastest time in the world over 100m this season.
She ran a world leading 10.85 seconds in Rome last week.
In the men’s 200m event – Jamaica’s Julian Forte earned a season’s best of 20.39 seconds to earn a second place finish.
Arthur Cisse of the Ivory Coast ran a national record of 20.23 to take gold.
