No STING to Be Held this Year
Persons who were eagerly anticipating attending STING this year will likely be disappointed as organisers have cancelled the 30-year-old event and replaced it with an an invitation-only award ceremony slated for December 26.
During a recently aired Onstage interview, Supreme Promotions principals Isaiah Laing and Heavy D cited some reasons why the highly anticipated show was cancelled.
Among them, according to Heavy D was a lack of headline acts.
“The last two-three years, the headline artistes just weren’t there, so there was no crowd….since Kartel gone, the headline move……you will have 50 artistes to work, but if you don’t have two main ones, the other 48 don’t count,” he stated.
The show was also failing to meet to rake in the necessary funds to make a profit according to the organisers.
