Bus Driver Gets Ticket For Speeding Just Minutes Before Being Involved in Fatal Accident

A woman who was rescued from a motor vehicle collision on the Mandela Highway last Saturday has died.

According to Loop News, the woman whose identity has not yet been revealed  died in hospital on Thursday.

The crash reportedly stemmed from an oil spill from a disabled garbage truck.

Police officers stated that she was a passenger in a Toyota Hiace bus transporting about 15 persons to a church function.

  

On reaching the vicinity of the Toll Road exit, the vehicle skidded and the bus collided with the driver of a Suzuki Vitara.

Firefighters from the Jamaica Fire Brigade, who responded to the scene conducted a daring rescue mission to extricate the woman, as she was pinned in the front passenger seat of the bus.

The police had said the driver of the bus was ticketed for speeding just minutes before the collision.
