Omi Becomes 1st Jamaican to Enter Top 5 of Billboard Hot 100 Chart in 12 Years
Talented Jamaican reggae singer Omi continues to climb the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
He currently enjoys space in the chart’s top 5 with the likes of Wiz Khalifa and Taylor Swift.
The 9 week period he has been on the charts has seen Omi move from number 9 to the number 4 position.
Digital song sales mark Omi’s achievement as “Cheerleader” rises 3-2 on Digital Songs, up 18 percent to 159,000 downloads sold.
This is the first time in 12 years a Jamaican entertainer has entered in the top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The most recent Jamaican entertainer to hold the number 1 position was Sean Paul with Get Busy in 2003.
