Raheem Sterling Rejects Deal Worth $17 Million Per Week
Raheem Sterling has reportedly rejected a deal worth £100,000 or just over $17 million Jamaican dollars per week.
The speedy Jamaican-born forward is now in high demand and has played as a winger and attacking midfielder for English Premier team Liverpool.
According to the Daily Mail, the talented 20 year old, turned down a deal Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers described as an ‘incredible’ offer, reportedly worth £100,000 week at Anfield.
And Rodgers had stated that no agreement would be finalized before the end of the season earlier this month.
A source close to the negotiations revealed that the club and the player’s representative remain ‘miles apart’ as they seek to agree a new, long-term deal.
Sterling, who is expected to play for the Three Lions in their Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania at Wembley on Friday night, currently has a contract which runs until 2017.
But that is thought to be worth a relatively modest £35,000-a-week – way short of what some of the Premier League’s top earners pick up.
