FIFA Ranking Boost for Reggae Boyz Following Bermuda Rout

Climbing one spot on the global stage, Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz are now ranked 68th in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking, following a positive October international window.

Their slight rise comes after a mixed run in the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers, where the team rebounded from a 2-0 upset against Curaçao to thrash Bermuda 4-0 and tighten their grip on Group B.

Among Concacaf nations, Jamaica occupy fifth place, sitting behind Mexico (14th), the United States (16th), Canada (28th, down two), Costa Rica (45th, up two) and Honduras (64th, up one).

On the global front, Euro 2024 champions Spain have strengthened their dominance at the top of the rankings, cementing first place with consecutive wins that extended their lead after ending Argentina’s long reign earlier this year. The reigning world champions, now second after moving up one spot, have closed in on the leaders following a reshuffle that pushed France to third after a 2-2 draw with Iceland in UEFA qualifying.

England and Portugal round out the top five, while the Netherlands have leapfrogged Brazil into sixth as the South Americans slipped to seventh following a loss to Japan in a recent friendly. Belgium remain eighth, Italy fall to ninth, and Germany surge two places to tenth after reclaiming their spot from Croatia (11th, down two), who faltered in World Cup qualifying.

Across Africa, Morocco continue to lead the continent at 12th, one place lower than before. Strong recent form has lifted Hungary (37th, up four), Scotland (38th, up five), Nigeria (41st, up four) and Romania (47th, up four) further up the table.

Major upward shifts were also recorded for Niger (108th), Lesotho (144th) and the Faroe Islands (127th), each climbing nine spots. Kosovo reached an all-time best at 84th with a seven-place jump, while Syria (86th) and Liberia (138th) also posted noticeable improvements.

The updated FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking is scheduled to be released again on November 21, 2025.
