VIDEO: Di’Shon Bernard Achieves Dream of Representing Jamaica
Di’Shon Bernard, a promising newcomer to the Reggae Boyz squad, expresses his joy in fulfilling his lifelong dream of wearing the national colors.
Currently in Austria with the Jamaican delegation, Bernard is actively participating in their preparations for the upcoming Concacaf Gold Cup in the United States.
At the age of 22, Bernard, a defender who plays for League One Club Portsmouth, has strong Jamaican roots through his father.
He is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the squad, guided by coach Heimir Hallgrimsson, and is eagerly anticipating the two warm-up matches against Qatar and Jordan.
Bernard’s primary goal is to make Jamaica proud with his performances on the field.
The Reggae Boyz have had previous successes, reaching the finals in 2015 and 2017.
However, their journey was cut short in the quarterfinals in 2021.
This year, they have been drawn in Group A and are set to face the United States in their opening game at Soldier Field in Chicago on January.
