Usain Bolt Leads World Eleven Against England in Soccer Aid Charity Match
Eight-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt has been named the captain of a World Eleven team that will take on an England Eleven in the upcoming Soccer Aid Charity match.
The highly anticipated game will be held today at Old Trafford in Manchester.
Joining Bolt in the World Eleven lineup are several former football greats, including Roberto Carlos, Francesco Totti, and Gabriel Batistuta. The team will also feature Jamaican-born British UFC Welterweight champion, Leon Edwards, and boxer Tommy Fury.
The World Eleven will be under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino, the newly appointed manager of Chelsea, and former Tottenham and Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane.
On the other side, the England Eleven will include former Three Lions stars Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, and Jermain Defoe. Sir Mo Farah, the former Olympic champion in the 5000 and 10,000 meters, is also set to make an appearance.
Managing the England team will be Emma Hayes, the manager of Chelsea Women’s team, and the renowned football figure Harry Redknapp.
Soccer Aid is an annual charitable event aimed at raising funds for the children’s charity UNICEF.
The match will kick off at 1:30pm (local time).
