Oblique Seville of Jamaica Claims Victory in Atlanta City Games 100m with Time of 9.99!
A field of exceptional quality participated in various track and field events at the Adidas Atlanta City Games, held at Centennial Olympic Park on Saturday.
Jamaica’s Oblique Seville emerged as the winner in the 100m race with a time of 9.99, narrowly beating South Africa’s Akani Simbine and Great Britain’s Zharnel Hughes, who were awarded the same time of 10.01.
Ryiem Forde from Jamaica ran a personal best of 10.07 to finish in fourth place.
In the women’s 100m race, Aleia Hobbs won with a time of 10.99, followed closely by her compatriot Mikiah Brisco at 11.02, and Jamaica’s Ashanti Moore, who set a new personal best time of 11.10.
Trinidad and Tobago’s Jereem Richards won the 150m dash in the ‘B’ final with a time of 14.83, beating USA’s Chris Royster and Brandon Carnes.
In the ‘A’ final, Noah Lyles, the 200m World Champion, won the 150m race with a time of 14.56, followed by Erriyon Knighton and Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala.
In the women’s 150m race, Tamari Davis won the ‘A’ final with a new lifetime best of 16.44, with Great Britain’s Daryl Neita coming in second with a personal best of 16.48, and Gabby Thomas setting a new personal best time of 16.50 to finish in third place.
In the ‘B’ final, Angie Angus won with a time of 16.58, while Jamaica’s Remona Burchell came in second with a time of 16.73.
In the 600m run, Ajee Wilson won comfortably with a time of 1:27.00, while veteran middle-distance runner Natoya Goule finished second with a time of 1:28.18.
Sammy Watson came in third at 1:28.49. In the men’s 600m run, Bryce Hoppel emerged as the winner with a time of 1:17.13, followed by Kameron Jones and Jamaica’s Rajay Hamilton.
