Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson Herah Wins Olympic 200 Metre Final!
On Tuesday, Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson Herah comfortably won the women’s 200 metre final at the Tokyo Olympics in a Jamaican national record time of 21.53s.
She has now etched her name in the history books as the win saw her become the first woman to repeat the sprint double at two consecutive Olympics, winning gold in the 100m and 200m in Rio in 2016 and now at the Tokyo Olympics.
Her compatriot -Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, finished fourth.
Christine Mboma of Namibia finished second for silver and America’s Gabby Thomas took bronze in third place.
“That is amazing, to be in the history books,” Thompson Herah said in reference achieving the “double-double” in the Olympics.
