Jamaican Born Actor Michael Ward Wins Highly Coveted British Award
Jamaican born actor Micheal Ward has already brushed shoulders with the likes of Robert Deniro and Al Pacino and he recently received the highly coveted EE Rising Star Award.
It was previously known as the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Rising Star Award, but is currently styled as the EE Rising Star Award and acknowledges new talents in the acting industry.
Five nominees are chosen regardless of gender, nationality and whether they have made a breakthrough in television, film or both.
The nominees are selected by the BAFTA juries, but the winner is chosen entirely by the public votes via text, internet or phone.
The 24-year-old actor’s popularity skyrocketed following his breakout role in Netflix’s 2019 reboot of Top Boy.
He has appeared in several British films and television series such as Blue Story (as “Marco”), Top Boy (as “Jamie”) and The A List.
