The Phoenix All Stars Football academy created history today by going to Belgium and defeating Krc Genk in the under 13 category.
KRC Genk is known for its development of world class talent with the likes of Kevin de Brune , Coutoi , Ben Teke and several others.
Phoenix came back from 2 to 0 to down to win by 4 to 3 today in a hard fought very technical match.
Top Performances from the entire squad executing what President Butler refers to as our national football culture developed in Phoenix. Speed, strength, vision and quick execution was the order of the day and all the players should be proud.
According to a member of the academy’s management team:
“This is history we learned from Genk many years ago and today we were able to better them. Three years ago on Phoenix first trip to Europe Krc Genk defeated our under 11 squad by 21 goals to 2. Today we have shown that the development at Phoenix is getting better and better.
Craig Butler and Leon Bailey also drove down to Belgium to watch his academy play against his former club and was indeed pleased.
The management team, Phoenix family and all supporters are very proud of our players.”
