Bolt Wins 100m At Golden Spike Meet Despite Rusty Start
Jamaica’s Usain Bolt won the men’s 100m event at the Ostrava Golden Spike meet in The Czech Republic today.
The world’s fastest man had a shaky start but still managed to win the race despite easing up slightly just before the finish line.
Bolt who seemed to be struggling to separate himself from the rest of the field shifted gears in the last 40m of the race to finish ahead of Cuba’s Yunier Perez, who finished second.
He crossed the line in 10.06 seconds.
This was the second race of what will be Bolt’s final track season. Earlier this month, he clocked 10.03 at the Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium in Kingston.
He is expected to retire after competing in the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London later this year.
