Flood Waters in Clarendon Claim Man’s Life
The continuous rainfall that pummelled the island in recent days has reportedly claimed the life of one person.
He is Humphery Brown, a resident of Clarendon, who, after being reported missing on Tuesday, was found dead in the Sandy River community in the parish on Wednesday.
Indications thus far are that Brown drowned in the flood waters.
May Pen Mayor, Winston Maragh, has since appealed to residents of several communities in the parish who have been badly displaced by the flooding to exercise extreme caution.
He has encouraged persons to take no chances with high waters that are still in their midst.
The mayor has also reportedly indicated that clean-up efforts are continuing across the parish, with food items being airlifted to residents of communities that have been rendered inaccessible.
