Sixth Form Student Collapses, Dies After Basketball Game

A sixth from student at Spot Valley High in Montego Bay reportedly died after participating in an ISSA/Western Conference Under-19 basketball game on Friday.

The student, Saymar Ramsay was reportedly on his way home from the game when he collapsed.

He was then carried to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He is now the second student athlete to have collapsed and died during or shortly after participating in a sporting activity this school year.

  

In September, St Georges College football player Dominic James collapsed and died during a ISSA/Flow Manning Cup game.

James’ cause of death was deemed to be heart failure.
